REAL Software has released an update to its development utility, Studio 2010. The software was previously known as REALbasic, although the programming language name remains unchanged. Release 1 adds several new features and improvements, including additional support for ActiveX. Previous versions only offered a limited subset of ActiveX controls, while the latest release is claimed to support most of the controls and all events.

Along with the additional support, the software is also now available with a localization for Korean customers. The company has changed its product documentation to a wiki format, enabling quicker updates to the support content.

REAL Studio 2010 is now available for Mac, Windows and Linux systems, with three different editions to choose from. The Personal version carries a price of $100 and offers most of the basic tools for developers. The Professional edition, which costs $300, adds support for ServerSocket Class, SSL, cross-compiled applications, and other features. The Enterprise variant can be purchased for $995 and offers a profiler, IDE scripting, build automation, and cross-platform development, among other capabilities.
