Made-to-Order Headphones Show Your Favorite Music in 3D [Concept]
Brian Garret Schuur is a clever guy, and that’s why rapid manufacturer Freedom of Creation has taken his design for the Street Headphones. These made-to-order headphones feature the names of your favorite bands and singers all around them, in 3D.
They don’t seem very comfortable, but I would be glad if people used this way to show their musical taste—as opposed to blasting the volume up. [Freedom of Creation]

I remember in Middle School woodshop, the teacher would not allow any projects that had band names displayed. He never explained why. He would hate these. I hate these, too.
If these had the alphabet and numbers engraved, instead, then I might like them for my son. Even better if it just had his name printed on them, so he could roll them over playdoh. Why is this on headphones again? Maybe Braille, instead. My head hurts.

My biggest question is how the heck they manufacture those things at a reasonable price. Plastic crap is cheap from injection molding, but you don’t make individualized molds. They could CNC machine them, but that’s still pricey. I couldn’t see anything about price on the website, but I’d guess these won’t be sub-$150, and therefore won’t sell.

@Artrip: Let’s go ahead and add The Jonas Brothers to that list, unless it’s this version of The Jonas Brothers:

Might be a cool gift for a tween or teen. Good luck figuring out their favorite bands. Best to let them order it for you.

The question is are they loud enough to block out all the laughter and taunting that comes with wearing them?

Cease and desist for using Band names in their advert in 3, 2, 1.

The only three bands I could make out from those three pics are chemical brothers, the prodigy and nine inch nails

These are cool, but they have to ban anyone from getting Dave Matthews…
