I want two times faster clock to clock CPU @4.0GHz compared to a Intel Core i7 Quad Core CPU and to be 35W TDP or 45W TDP or at least 65W TDP. Then i will uprgade my system.
Hey I’m going to be building a PC soon and I’m getting a AMD Phenom II X4 965 on a Gigabyte 790GX motherboard (GA-MA790GPT-UD3H). I’m also getting a Swiftech H20-220 compact water cooling kit and a Swiftech MCW30 for the northbridge. I was hoping to get an overclock of 4.5Ghz with that, you think its possible or are my hopes too high?
str8 intel may use 775 for long But ….most p4 motherboard will accept only pentium D …
pentium D generation motherboards does not support core 2 duo or quat of 6xxx family
and core 2 duo /quad 6xxx motherboards may not support 9xxx core i5 and core i7 got diferent slots …. so if you look AM2+ and AM3 they offer better compatibility atm … and at the momment phenom 2 looking more atractive than Core 2 cpus on every aspect …even thought intel completly dominate for 2 years …
Yea im not even dignify anymore of your bullshit with a response. feel free to fill my inbox with garbage. Cuz you juss got SEEEEERRRRRVVVVVEEEEEEDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That and i can smell fanboy on your breath. hate them faggots. < some final name calling for your technically dumb ass.
I also think you need to count how many cpu’s work with socket 775 alone.
Let’s review… yet again…
Socket 775 supports….
Celeron
Celeron D
Pentium 4
Pentium 4 Extreme Edition
Pentium D
Core 2 Duo
Core 2 Quad
Core 2 Extreme
Even a socket that supports server CPU’s
Xeon 3000 series
Want some toilet paper to wipe your mouth?
Upgradeability? You must mean the numerous sockets AMD currently sells chips for on the desktop compared to intel’s?
Lets review…
AMD=754, 939 (discontinued but still a lot out there), AM2, AM2+, AM3. Only recently AMD has started its focus on this socket (AM3)/45nm process which still leaves AMD 6 to 9 months (or more knowing AMD’s track record since aquiring ATi as an EXAMPLE), behind Intel.
I notice you never answered to WHY AMD sells for much less
Intel=775, 1366
PS. do you really think AMD wants to sell its chips for less? LMAO. i think you need a business course. at least use some of the sites YOU use and find out AMD said just that.
AMD has the price point advantage because of lower cost MOBOs (anyone with 2seconds of time can find out that they can buy a i7920 for the same as a PHII 955).
sadly you went 100% off topic with that one. where does it say i ever mentioned price/performance comparisons? using your logic, a Ferrari costs more than a Corvette, but the Corvette is better/faster cuz its cheaper?
Please please please tell me how that makes sense.
my phenom ist not primestable on 4.0ghz on 1,475volt
ich have x4 966
Got one.
FANBOYISM but you are right and i completely agree
hell yea
AMD/ATI are the best
possible
Bu may find with bf RAM + multipier
IE 18 X 250

OFF TOPIC- Anyone know what the music is?
Gigabyte is a great brand, especially since they do 2oz copper cores for better cooling and power usage……
I read the reviews and that what people have been saying they have been doing, they got a stable overclock at 4.5 with water cooling

would love to know what ram they are using, thats some insane speed.

“Intel users on the other hand will have to upgrade their MOBO as a new socket count is introduced if I remember correctly.”
WTF. who says anyone HAS to upgrade???
*coughs* AMD CURRENT socket count *cough*
Why do you continue to punish yourself?
